the marrow of it all

The world being what it is for the moment, I don’t tend to tune in to Rachel Maddow anymore. Instead, I click on links sent to me by my friends Michael Jaeger and Michael Fass.

This one is from Jaeger, who called it “essential.” He is right.

I told my dad that he should read this piece, which was written by Adam Serwer for The Atlantic. My dad said he’d love to read articles in The Atlantic but he has, “you know, a full-time job.”

Fair enough. And yes, this article is long.

But it is IT.

If you're fortunate enough on this weekend of thanks to have the bandwidth for a brilliant, deep dive, here you go. This one pulled me out of a dead sleep at 5:30 this morning and didn't let me go. It gets right down to the marrow of it all.
